Skoda autovolkswagenindia Pvt Ltd (SAVWIPL) has announced a financial aid of Rs 1 crore directed towards setting up a dedicated facility for Covid-19 patients at Sassoon Hospital in Pune. The facility will have capacity of 1,100 beds and this contribution will help procure essential medical consumables and critical care equipment for the medical team and the patients fighting the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Additionally, the company will donate over 35,000 sanitizers to hospitals in pune, aurangabad and mumbai and distribute 50,000 food packets in the aurangabad region as well in partnership with the Annamitra Foundation to those in need.
Skoda autovolkswagenindia is also lending support by producing face shields at its Chakan facility along with facemasks for indoor and outdoor use by healthcare professionals. The requisite approvals have been obtained from Dr. ajay Chandanwale, Dean of the maharashtra State government run Sassoon General Hospital.
