According to sources "The 3 wheeler range Treo and Treo Yaari are powered with lithium ion battery, which gives 170 km ride for a single charge, said Mahindra Electric Mobility Ltd Chairman Pawan Goenka on the occasion. Meanwhile the $21 billion Mahindra group has invested Rs 100 crore in setting up a technology plant in the city's southern outskirts, with an installed capacity of 25,000 units per annum to make the e-autos for Karnataka initially.

The company in a statement "The e-auto is priced at Rs 1.36 lakh, with subsidy from the Faster Adoption and Manufacture of Electric (FAME) vehicles scheme of the central government's 2015 National Electricity Mobility Mission plan, drawn to encourage increasing use of electric vehicles". Furthermore State Industries Minister K.J. George unveiled the electric mobility plant in Bommasandra industrial area.

George at the roll out event said "The e-plant is the first to be set up in the southern state after our government framed the Karnataka State Electric Vehicle & Energy Storage policy in 2017". Moreover the e-autos will be available at select dealerships across Bengaluru and Hyderabad and later in other cities in a phased manner and the plant will initially employ 200 skilled people and hire more through allied services. Goenka said "The new hub aligns with our belief in an all-electric future, based on mobility vision of producing clean, connected and convenient vehicles”.

The national award winning actress Priyamani, who had shot to fame with her award-winning act in the Tamil flick Paruthi Veeran, and had also starred in films of top directors like Maniratnam, Bharathiraja, and Balu Mahendra, had set out on a glam attack in Telugu, and performance oriented roles in Malayalam.   

The actress had long back acted in a movie titled Angulika, but the movie never progressed beyond a point, and the makers never paid her in full. However, the producers of Angelika later completed the movie with other artists, and are releasing the movie now.

Recently Anna University has announced that theory examinations scheduled for Friday will now be conducted on December 13. As per report the University has also postponed examinations scheduled for November 17 to December 14 and the examinations have been rescheduled on account of Cyclone Gaja, which hit the coastal areas in Tamilnadu on Friday.

Meanwhile in a statement, the University said, “It is informed that the theory examinations scheduled on 16-Nov-2018 of Nov/Dec 2018 Examinations of Anna University pertaining to all affiliated colleges of the UG/PG degree programs are rescheduled due to Cyclone. Accordingly the postponed examination date is 13-Dec-2018. This may please be brought to the notice of students, staff and all concerned." Earlier the university had announced the cancellation of all examinations scheduled on Thursday, November 15.

Moreover cyclone Gaja made landfall in the early hours of Friday morning, leaving a trail of destruction centred predominantly in Nagapattinam. Hence over 76,000 people were preemptively evacuated on Thursday across Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Ramanathapuram, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai and Thiruvarur districts. As per report over 20 people from across seven districts in Tamilnadu had died due to electrocution, wall or tree collapses.

Accordingly Aadi 18/ Aadi Perukku are a festival observed on the 18th day in Tamil month Aadi. It is also known as Pathinettam perukku or Aadi perukku in Tamil. This year 2017, it falls on August 3rd. Aadi perukku is a unique South Indian festival that marks the beginning of Tamil festivals in Tamilnadu. It is observed on the 18th day of Tamil month Aadi.

On this day, all the family members along with their friends and relatives make a trip to the riverbank by preparing a special lamp using rice flour and jaggery (maavilakku), mulaipari and several rice varieties ( Chitranna). Maavilakku is placed on mango leaves along with flowers, turmeric and a yellow thread. Then the lamp it is lit by the women and they float the lamps along with the mango leaves and other accompaniments in the river. The riverbank or seashore picnic is a major event in some districts of Tamilnadu on this day. We call this as Vandi katti poradhu in Tamil.

Some regions in Tamilnadu have the tradition of inviting the newly married couple to home and son-in-law is given gifts on the day. Some people also have the practice of adding a gold coin in the thali of bride. During Aadi month, the newlywed girl spends the month at her parent’s home for some scientific reasons.

Chennai sources made a statement that Tamilnadu created many spiritual leaders including those from Jains to serve the people. Meanwhile this was also the objective of the late chief minister J. Jayalalitha, who had taken a political path. Accordingly Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami said in Acharya Shree Mahashraman Chaturmas Pravas Vyavastha Samiti held in the city, on Saturday. “Jain saints and late Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha converge on same ideals”.

Meanwhile when praising the state’s contribution to the spiritual world, Palaniswami said that India is a temple and the presiding deity is Tamilnadu. He said “Great scholars and saints have worked towards bringing peace in the world”. As per report actress and Congress leader Khushbu, who was in Hyderabad yesterday, has hit out at KCR by calling him a 'Commission Man'. She alleged that TRS government is working for the 'commissions'. Meanwhile she further alleged that TRS has failed to provide employment to youths and 'minimum support price' to farmers.

When speaking at Gandhi Bhavan, Khushbu said Telangana state is No.2 in Corruption and No.3 in Unemployment. Accordingly Khushbu said Congress would end KCR's rule and give better governance to the people of Telangana. Furthermore listing out the promises of Congress, Khushbu said Congress would give 1 Lakh loan to Credit Cooperative groups of women (Mahila Podupu Sanghalu). Accordingly she said that Rs 5 Lakh will be provided to the beneficiaries of Indiramma Houses if Congress is voted to power. She said 9 types of groceries would be provided at ration shops if Congress gains power.

Moreover talking about lack of importance to women in TRS rule, Khushbu alleged that KCR has totally ignored women and their safety, security in the state. Further she said Congress has given 11 seats to women whilst TRS has given only 3 seats to women and shooting a straight question to KCR, she asked whether Kavita is the only woman in Telangana.
